Joshua Tree et Shoshone

[ In Joshua Tree it’s really possible to make beautiful hikes. Among the best the one to Lost Palm (from Cottonwood Spring), the walk to Lost Horse Mine is also very rewarding. The Kelso Dunes are also very high (600 feet) but much more easily reached compared to Eurekas. So if you do not have a 4x4 vehicule go for it. It’s steep but the view is so nice. Rainbow Basin is a must see (its a mud canyon north from Barstow). We spent the new years eve there. Dublin City is a duggout dwelling 200 yards from Shoshone downtown. We just like Shoshone, his Crow Bar and his museum. |

The first 2 pictures are the same taken by 1 mio of people every years in front of Zabriskie Point. Nothing special but we were there really before dusk and we came back three times. The Elephant Feet has nothing to do here, it’s not even in a real desert (but in the middle of Navajo Country). The next group of pictures are showing some of the 100.000 people from San Diego who spent the new years eve in the Glamis/Algodones dunes. Maybe not all are stupid but at least they look very close to.In Joshua Tree you can see much more than just this kind of cactus. You have also several beautiful Palm Oasis and lots of rocks (monzogranite boulder) |
