Australia 2007, 18 years after

After 18 years and with two kids added we are back in OZ. During our first catch we were young and relatively poor: this time we are much older and also with more in pockets. And believe me that make a all lot of difference.
For instance we exchange a very old Holden for a fully equipped 4x4 Toyota Troopcarrier. That means no more black on the road but only dirt.
The first trip was a long road trip around OZ, this time we went for a shorter (4 weeks ) but more direct North- South crossing.
We started in Darwin to visit the tropical north, then we headed west toward Broome and the Indian Ocean to have a quick bath. Then we return to the Red Center via Purnululu and the Tanami desert. We spend a few days around Alice (and we avoided Ayers Rock which has recently been sold to the Japanese Tourist coming in droves from Cairns). Then we followed the old aboriginal trade route through the Tirari desert, from artesian well to mound springs (Andado tracks, Simpson, Oodnadatta track), went to Coober Pedy and took back the plane in Adelaïde to finish with 10 days in Sydney at Sue's pad.
